ENTERING GOD'S REST
The Rest Of God is for us TODAY!
Many have failed to enter into His rest. Why?
I am
glad you asked!
There are many reasons why some people never enter into
God's Rest.
I will list the Two Major reasons that hinder people
from entering God's Rest.
Reference: (Hebrews 4:1)
1.Unbelief
2. Lack Of Trust In God
The lack of faith hinders many people from fully
experiencing God. These people believe God, until
!!
These are the until believers. They serve God, but when
they lose control of a situation they do not trust God to
see them through it. This is where many forfeit God's provision
for that situation. Sound familiar? We all have fallen
short of trusting God in difficult times in our lives.
I hope this writing will bring clarity as to why
many are not walking in God's Rest.
I have included the scripture reference to this topic.
You can read about entering God's Rest in Hebrews 4:1-12.
Please take the time to read all twelve verses. These
Twelve verses can change your life, if you take the time
to look at them closely.
We must learn to trust God in every situation. Even
when things don't go the way we think they should go. God
has not left you stranded. In fact one of His promises is
that He would never leave of forsake us. So, stop thinking
that God has left you all alone in your dilemma!
To enter God's Rest, we must pass through "A Door
Called Trust."
We can read about Job, in his dilemma. He lost everything.
He had boils on his body. His wife told him to curse God
and die. Everything was going wrong and for no reason as
far as Job could see. He hadn't done anything to reap this
measure of suffering.
Remember, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had to
TRUST God concerning the outcome of their dilemma.
Please note that they did not pray for deliverance. They
already knew their God would take care of them! Though
their flesh wasn't sure, their spirit knew all was well.
You might say, they were in God's Rest.
Dan 3:16 They said, to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we [are]
not careful to answer thee in this matter
Dan 3:17If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to
deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver
[us] out of thine hand, O king.
You would think standing in front of a burning furnace,
and the threat of someone about to throw you in it, would
merit a prayer for deliverance! (smile)
This is where we sometimes miss it. We can pray against
the attack of the enemy. [2Cr 10:4 For the weapons
of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God
to the pulling down of strong holds;)]
Then, there times we need to trust God and pass through
"A Door Called Trust."
I love the response of Job and Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
Job's response went something like this. God I will serve
you, even if you slay me!
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego's response was, "our
God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning
fiery furnace, and he will deliver [us] out of thine hand,
O king"
They totally put themselves in God's hand, completely!!
We desperately need to TRUST God like this.
This is where we pass through that door I mentioned earlier.
The door of trusting God, no matter what!
Now don't stop here!
Read the twelve verses and soak in them for a while.
If you are in a dilemma or would suffer in one to come,
I hope you remember this message!
Hebrews 4:1-12
1THEREFORE, WHILE the promise of entering His rest
still holds and is offered [today], let us be afraid [[a]to
distrust it], lest any of you should [b]think he has come
too late and has come short of [reaching] it.
2For indeed we have had the glad tidings [Gospel
of God] proclaimed to us just as truly as they [the Israelites
of old did when the good news of deliverance from bondage
came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit
them, because it was not mixed with faith (with [c]the leaning
of the entire personality on God in absolute trust and confidence
in His power, wisdom, and goodness) by those who heard it;
[d]neither were they united in faith with the ones [Joshua
and Caleb] who heard (did believe).
3For we who have believed (adhered to and trusted
in and relied on God) do enter that rest, [e]in accordance
with His declaration that those [who did not believe] should
not enter when He said, As I swore in My wrath, They shall
not enter My rest; and this He said although [His] works
had been completed and prepared [and waiting for all who
would believe] from the foundation of the world.(A)
4For in a certain place He has said this about the
seventh day: And God rested on the seventh day from all
His works.(B)
5And [they forfeited their part in it, for] in this
[passage] He said, They shall not enter My rest.(C)
6Seeing then that the promise remains over [from
past times] for some to enter that rest, and that those
who formerly were given the good news about it and the opportunity,
failed to appropriate it and did not enter because of disobedience,
7Again He sets a definite day, [a new] Today, [and
gives another opportunity of securing that rest] saying
through David after so long a time in the words already
quoted, Today, if you would hear His voice and when you
hear it, do not harden your hearts.(D)
8[This mention of a rest was not a reference to their
entering into Canaan.] For if Joshua had given them rest,
He [God] would not speak afterward about another day.
9So then, there is still awaiting a full and complete
Sabbath-rest reserved for the [true] people of God;
10For he who has once entered [God's] rest also has
ceased from [the weariness and pain] of human labors, just
as God rested from those labors [f]peculiarly His own.(E)
11Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves
and strive diligently to enter that rest [of God, to know
and experience it for ourselves], that no one may fall or
perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience [into
which those in the wilderness fell].
12For the Word that God speaks is alive and full
of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective];
it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the
dividing line of the [g]breath of life (soul) and [the immortal]
spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of
our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging
the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
In His Rest,
Prophet Rick Fultz
